A music producer, DJ, music selector, composer, writer, radio personality, and owner of the venue "The Room." In 2000, the track "ECLIPSE," released under the name KYOTO JAZZ MASSIVE, held the No. 1 spot on the BBC Radio ZUBB chart for three consecutive weeks. He is a globally active artist who has performed in over 140 cities across 40 countries. He is also a leading figure in "sound branding"—the practice of transforming the value of a space through music. In 2009, he received the Good Design Award for his music supervision of United Cinemas Toyosu, a facility designed by Intentionallies. He launched the jazz project KYOTO JAZZ SEXTET in 2015. Since 2022, he has been touring Europe as a band under the name KYOTO JAZZ MASSIVE with Echoes Of A New Dawn Orchestra. Marking the 30th anniversary of KYOTO JAZZ MASSIVE's debut in 2024, he released the commemorative EP *KJM EOANDO* in June; the EP reached No. 1 on the iTunes Dance Album Chart, while the track "Impulsive Procession" hit No. 1 on the Traxsource Broken Beat/Nu-Jazz chart. In July 2025, he released the KYOTO JAZZ SEXTET album *DOSOJIN NO UTA*. His published works include *DJ Music Selection Techniques*, *Introduction to Club Jazz*, and his autobiography, *Profession: DJ – 25 Years*. He currently hosts the program *Tokyo Crossover Radio* on Interfm (airing Fridays at 10:00 PM) and supervises the *Shuya Okino presents Music in The Room* program on USEN Channel I-12.
